Music and Worship Opportunities for Spring 2020
Consider these opportunities in Spring 2020 to build your knowledge and skills for worship ministry:
Ministry of Worship Hybrid: The Hybrid Ministry of Worship class applies biblical worship theology to local church practice. Pastors, worship musicians, youth ministers, and others are encouraged to consider MIN3540 (college) or PMN6540 (seminary) Ministry of Worship meeting on campus April 17 – 18, 2020.
Theology of Worship Class: Dr. Quinn and Dr. Waggener will be coteaching this class that considers the biblical basis for, and historical practice of Christian worship, including a survey of historical liturgies and consideration of contemporary issues. Register for THE3515 (college) or THE7510 (seminary), meeting Wednesday afternoons from 12:30 – 3:20pm.
Contemporary Music Worship Teams: Participate in a student-led worship band to design worship sets, rehearse, and work with technology, and be coached by worship leader, songwriter, and professor Dr. Josh Via. These teams meet on Wednesday morning beginning at 9:00am or 10:30am. Contemporary Music can be taken for a FREE elective credit by registering for MUS1585ANON or MUS1585BNON (college) or MUS5585ANON or MUS5585BNON (seminary).
The Kingdom Choir: Join us Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9:30-10:20am in the Appleby Bethea Room. The Kingdom Choir gives students the opportunity to sing and lead each other in worship. Also, we’ll work with diverse worship leaders both on and off campus at special events, including a special trip to Charlotte April 3-5. This class can be taken for a FREE elective credit by registering for MUS1581ANON (college) or MUS5581ANON (seminary).

Musical Skills Classes: To lead musical worship effectively, certain skills are necessary. These classes are open to all Southeastern students.
