NEW Ministry Classes on Technology and Music Styles in Spring 2016
Southeastern students in the college and seminary are encouraged to consider two NEW courses to be offered in Spring 2016 that will acquaint them with technology and musical styles useful.
Need help coordinating volunteers for church events or building a church website? Want experience with the latest software for planning and implementing worship services? Sign up for MIN3575/PMN3575 Technology for Ministry (Fridays, 9am-noon), a study of technologies available to churches for various ministry purposes. This class will give you hands-on experience in software, multimedia, digital sound/video recording, and other technologies used on a weekly basis.
Interested in discussing musical styles used in Christian worship? Need help discerning what music will edify your congregation and encourage congregational worship? Sign up for MUS3500/6500 Musical Styles in Western Culture (Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 12:30-1:50pm), a survey of musical styles that have developed in Western culture, with an emphasis on musical styles used in Christian worship. This class will involve lots of listening and discussions on diverse musical styles including classical, folk, and popular genres currently in use. Come join the conversation!
