Drummond-Bush Lecture

Date: Monday, February 23
Time: 6:30pm – 8:00pm
Location: Carson Hall, Room 223

Come join us for the Drummond-Bush Lecture hosted by Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. This year, we have the pleasure of hearing from Dr. Josh Chatraw of Samford University on “The Absurdity of Life and The Good News of Jesus’ Resistance.”

Our “normal” isn’t working. Deaths of despair have reached alarming high levels. Loneliness has been declared an epidemic. Student mental health has been declared a crisis. We are experiencing fissures in the fabric of our communities. We painfully feel the absurdity of our lives: We are more technologically advanced, more digitally connected, more materially prosperous, and more anxious, lonely, angry, and sad. While interacting with a wide range of thinkers — from Blaise Pascal to Friedrich Nietzsche to Albert Camus to Harmut Rosa — Dr. Josh Chatraw, the Billy Graham Chair of Evangelism and Cultural Engagement at Beeson Divinity School, will explore how Jesus’ resistance is the surprising, good news we all need to receive. This event is free of charge and will be held in Rm 223 (CFC) of Carson Hall at 6:30pm-8pm on February 23, 2026. Space is limited, so register now!
