About Chicago-Pie-in-the-Face-Competition

During Homecoming Week, Student Life desires to mobilize students to make an eternal value in the Kingdom of God. We have directed our focus of Homecoming to use friendly competition as a vehicle to further the planting of churches in North America.

Student Life has decided to help raise support for the church plant to Chicago, the Church at North Center, that is being sent out by the North American Church Planting Foundation and Nehemiah Project in Summer 2012. The individuals leading the church plant are current students at Southeastern, and so we feel it would be beneficial for the student body to come alongside these students to send them out.

How are we going to do this, you ask?

Well, with a little something we like to call the “CHICAGO-PIE-IN-THE-FACE-COMPETITION!” Several professors (Dr. Merida, Dr. McKenzie, and Dr. McKinion) have agreed to put their pride on the line for a little bit of fun. They will be recruiting students to donate money in their name throughout Homecoming Week, and the professor with the least amount of money donated in their name will be pied in the face.

How do I donate in my favorite professor’s name?

There will be 2 different ways that you can make a donation to the Church at North Center in your professors name. Each participating professor will have a box with his face on it in the Ledford Student Center. You can simply drop cash or checks in these boxes throughout the week. Also, a link to the NACPF E-Giving website will be posted on Around Southeastern during the competition. The E-Giving form will have a question that you will be able to indicate which professors name you are giving towards.

When will donations close?

• Cash or check donations will close at 6:00 PM on Thursday, October 13
• E-Giving donations will close at 1:00 PM on Thursday, October 13.
