Falls Lake Stewardship Symposium
On May 6 – 7, 2012 the Center for Faith and Culture and the George Institute for Biodiversity and Sustainability will be co-sponsoring a free Falls Lake Christian Stewardship Symposium at North Wake Church. This symposium will bring together theologians and natural resource experts to discuss ecological challenges to Falls Lake and theological perspectives on ecosystems within the lake, with a goal of engaging church pastors and leaders in developing avenues to protect Wake County’s drinking water supply and ecosystem health and services.
Speakers and moderators at this event will include SEBTS faculty and alumni, local church pastors and scientists. This will be an excellent opportunity to become better informed about some of the challenges facing our community’s water resources and to come to a better understanding of these issues from a Christian perspective. This will also be a valuable opportunity to engage those within the Wake Forest community on such a common-ground issue such as the health of our shared drinking source.
We heartily encourage your participation in this event. Please visit the Falls Lake Christian Stewardship Symposium webpage or contact Sarah Sheaffer (email: ssheaffer@sebts.edu; ext: 2190) for more information.
