What are the age requirements for the children I can shop for? Can I shop for all of my children?
Age requirements are infants to 18 years old. We also ask that these children are living with you. Children not born before Toy Chest may not be shopped for at Toy Chest. There is no limit to the number of children you can shop for, if the above requirements are met.
Can my children come with me to the Toy Chest? Can I bring them in a stroller?
No. For safety concerns, no children are allowed at Toy Chest, with the exception of nursing babies. No strollers please.
Can I send my mother –in- law, friend, or neighbor that day to shop for me? Can I bring her with me?
No. Only the SEBTS student and/or spouse can shop at the Toy Chest. In fact, please bring your student ID card the morning of the Toy Chest.
How are things priced?
Items cost you 10% or less of the store’s retail price. All money you pay at Toy Chest goes straight to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering to support missions.
Can you explain the shopping process at the Toy Chest?
You may purchase up to a max of 4 items or $7 per child, whichever comes first. If you get one $7 item, you are maxed out. If you get 4 $1 items, you are maxed out. This is per child, not per family.
Can you explain the Raffle and why I have to come early?
The actual Toy Chest starts at 9am. However, the raffle entry closes at 8:30 am. You need to come early for check in and to enter your raffle tickets. There will be 50 more expensive raffle items for you to enter for a chance to win. You may only enter raffle items appropriate for your children’s ages. The raffle drawing is held at end of Toy Chest. If you win, raffle items cost $10. Max one “winning” raffle item per family.
Are there bikes for all ages at the Toy Chest? Is this an extra cost?
Yes, there are about 50 new bikes for all ages. Bikes must be appropriate size for your child’s age. Bikes cost $10, and limit one per family. They are first come, first serve.
I heard there is a “Quarter Aisle”? What is this?
We collect donations of lightly loved toys from church members, and create an “aisle” upstairs in our family life center. These are additional toys for you to purchase for your children. Each item costs a quarter.
How much money should I bring in total?
Estimate $7 per child, $10 for a winning raffle (if you win), $10 for a bike (if you get one), and additional money for Quarter Aisle items. We do accept checks, but you need to bring 3, for separate check out times.
Is breakfast provided?
