Around Southeastern

Sports, Clubs, and Activities

From intramural sports to performing arts, evangelism club to biblical language training, the opportunities for student extracurriculars at Southeastern are endless!

Student Activity Groups

Student activity groups at Southeastern are committed to being a godly example of fellowship and love, to nurture and train members to be Christian examples in all that they do, and to following the moral and ethical guidelines found in Scripture.

Performing Arts Club

  • Do you have acting experience and want to use it? Have you ever wanted to perform but never had the opportunity? Check out the Performing Arts Club (PAC). PAC is a group of Southeastern students that enjoys growing theater skills in weekly improv nights and workshops. We want to sharpen your performance skills in the hope that God can use you in Christian and non-Christian settings alike. Come join us or see us live and be ready to have a good time.

Biblical Languages for Everyone

  • Mission Statement: The Biblical Languages for Everyone club seeks to encourage and equip students to learn and maintain the biblical languages for ministry.
  • About BLE: The Biblical Languages for Everyone (BLE) student group aims to promote and facilitate students’ learning of the biblical languages. We do this primarily in three ways: 1) hosting weekly Greek and Hebrew reading groups to provide hands-on guided translation experience in Scripture, 2) connecting students with volunteer tutors for one-on-one help, and 3) hosting a biblical language event each semester. Students of every level of language experience are invited to participate.

Returning Journeymen

  • Mission Statement: The Returning Journeyman Group strives to be a place where former Journeymen can find community and support with others who have had similar experiences.
  • About the Group: The Returning Journeyman group is made up of students at SEBTS who have finished a Journeyman term with the IMB. This group gets together regularly for events, conversation, and support.

Prayer Initiative

  • Mission Statement: A prayer movement unifying SEBTS college and seminary students seeking the Lord’s face corporately and actively seeking to live out the great commission.
  • About the Group: Looking for more prayer opportunities? We desire for the college and seminary to be unified while praying fervently for the students, faculty, staff, and lostness around the world. Please join us as we meet every Thursday in the Brinkley Chapel at 7:00 pm for a time of prayer and worship.

SEBTS Evangelism

  • Mission Statement: SEBTS Evangelism group is designed to bring Southeastern college and seminary students together to fulfill the great commission by providing local outreach opportunities for students to share the gospel.
  • About the Group: Are you interested in learning how to share your faith? We are a club designed to help one another grow in evangelism and provide opportunities to go out and share the gospel together. We don’t want to wait to live life on mission later, we want to live life on mission now.

Policies

Medical Consideration

Participation in all intramural activities is completely voluntary; therefore, Southeastern and its staff assume no responsibility for injuries sustained during intramural participation. It is the responsibility of each participant to be aware of the demands and inherent dangers of the sports in which he or she participates. Each participant should evaluate his or her health relative to these factors. It is highly recommended that each participant has a medical examination prior to participation. Each participant will sign a risk and release form through the IM website prior to playing an intramural sport.

Sportsmanship

The Student Life Office believes good sportsmanship to be an inherently important quality of any person seeking to serve in ministry. Therefore, Student Life will neither condone, nor allow unsportsmanlike conduct in its programs. Individuals who habitually demonstrate unsportsmanlike conduct participating in intramural events will have their eligibility revoked.

Eligibility

Anyone participating in an intramural activity must be an active student, faculty, staff, dependent, or an alumnus who has paid all Southeastern fees. If you were not enrolled in the previous semester, you must be enrolled in the current semester to qualify as an active student. Eligible students are allowed a one semester extension for intramurals after graduation. This additionally applies to dependents of graduating students. All participants must be at least 16 years of age to play intramural sports at SEBTS.

Sign Up Online

To create a team or sign up with one, follow the link below to the SEBTS Intramural Sports Homepage. Participants must create an account to be eligible for a team.
